Many European destinations use the euro, but travellers will also encounter Swiss francs, pounds, kroner, zloty and other currencies.

Popular euro destinations

Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Finland, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta and Cyprus use the euro.

Popular non-euro destinations

Switzerland

  • Currency: Swiss franc (CHF)
  • Languages: German, French, Italian and Romansh

United Kingdom

  • Currency: Pound sterling (GBP)
  • Main language: English

Norway, Sweden and Denmark

They use NOK, SEK and DKK respectively, with Norwegian, Swedish and Danish as the main languages.
